Nationwide Schemes are generally, though not exclusively, for filmmakers with some experience. The level of the grants may be much larger than regional funds.

Nationwide schemes include the UK Film Council and the Arts Council.

Before you submit an application it is worth contacting a representative of the funding body to have an initial chat about what they are looking for in terms of style, back up materials and tastes. It may also be a good idea to contact previous successful applicants to find out about their projects. Basically, as with all funding submissions, do your research.
