IndieGoGo - connecting film-makers to fans for project funding and promotion. Mainly US so far but not exclusively - utilises Crowd Sourcing
ReelChanges.org - a site where audiences can contribute to documentary budgets - tax deductible - in exchange for a credit. Created for the Centre for Media Change in the US.
Mediarights.org - US based organisation promoting media that matters - has many useful articles / resources including a toolkit to help plan an outreach campaign around a film. Also see Having a Social Impact for more info about outreach

Working Films - a non-profit organistion that works with committed doc filmmakers to develop strategies for outreach and construct collaborative campaigns between filmmakers and organisers.
Centre for Social Media - analyses strategies to use media as creative tools for public knowledge and action. It focuses on social documentaries for civil society and democracy.
Channel 4 BRITDOC Foundation - has launched a new REAL GOOD section on website.
Directory of Social Change - runs a very complete subscription website for grant information. They also publish directories of trusts, charities and foundations (available on Amazon).
Grantsonline.org.uk - is a UK subscription website with grants giving information.
One World Broadcasting Trust - is a UK based organisation which aims to increase global understanding through effective use of media. They organise annual awards.
