Current TV
From 4docs
Current TV (Sky 183, Virgin 155 and current.com) is a dedicated space for short documentaries and great opportunity to get paid to make your short doc and hopefully even broadcast on digital TV.
Current TV is a cross-platform media company that aims to work with its young adult audiences to create and distribute content that informs, enriches and inspires. The VC2 department (viewer created content), is always looking for new short documentary film talent to produce self-contained 7-8 minute films that tell a story, profile a character/ group or share an idea. Current TV UK has become not only a place for new talent to grow, but a place for the industry at large to spot new talent within the realms of documentary filmmaking, presenting, reporting and even comedy. In the last year some of their most successful filmmakers have since been head-hunted to produce documentary features with the BBC, present children’s television at CBBC, report for Channel 4’s Unreported World and the BBC’s Panorama adipex programme.
