Amnesty International are really cleverly harnessing the power that can be generated from great short films to motivate people to take action.
They posted Defy Them a 90 second but hard-hitting film about torture, which shows activists intervening to prevent a torture victim being further abused, on their website.
Once you've watched the film, you might feel inspired to join Amnesty and on the same web-page as the film it gives you the option to join up. They began by sending it to all their past and current members and by encouraging people to send it to their family and friends it spread like a viral. It can also be uploaded onto Facebook pages, Twitter pages, blogs..... Check out Online Marketing.
The film will also air in a selection of cinemas over summer 2009 and at the Big Chill festival.
