Synopsis

One retired policeman and four ambitious, male, school leavers set out as film students of Liverpool John Moores University, to tell the story of the oldest surviving independant cinema in Liverpool. Little did they know, they'd end up discovering the lost gentle art of "canoodling" on the back row of the pictures. So sit back and relax while Thelma, Joan, Olive and Anita remenisce and discuss what their cinema still means to them and their community today.

'Our Cinema' started life as a documentary film production practice assignment, for first year film studies students. The brief; to capture The Picture House, Woolton, past and present and to record the part it plays in the life of the local community. However, the production team failed to take into account the real stars of the show as four local ladies tell their story.
