More Info
Covent Garden became London's largest fruit and veg market after the rest of London's markets were burnt down in The Great Fire of London in the 1600's. As London became increasingly busy, having the market in its central location became a logistical nightmare and so it was decided, in November 1974, to move the market to Nine Elms, its current location.
