This Green & Threatened Land

Made by: Kevin Reynolds

Synopsis

On the site of an abandoned petrol station in a less glamorous part of town, some locals decided to create a garden for everyone to enjoy. Transformed into a space where all could meet, more than an island of greenery was forged: so too was the sense of community that had, until then, been so sadly lacking. Although understood from the outset to be only a temporary public space, the invigorated community is now troubled by the garden's impending closure, and plans for redevelopment of the site.
