Synopsis

What makes us feminine or masculine? Looking in the mirror, wearing a hat? Long hair or mustaches? High heels? Where exactly is the dividing line between masculinity and femininity? Can it be identified in body, attitude, or mind?
Tango is a Latin American dance of passion where the man leads the women masterfully across the floor. This 3 minute documentary made in Ecuador challenges our gender perceptions through the medium of dance and reminds us not all is as meets the eye.

This documentary was filmed in Ecuador in 2008 and intended to be an example of my work to look for 3 minute wonder funding. The theme for the series of documentaries is Power and Body, and would feature various dancers or dance acts and the issues that they raise, be it gender, physical ability, or challenging societies rules.
