Nick Broomfield screens new short doc

Nick Broomfield returns to the realm of short docs with his new film, A Time Comes.

A Time Comes – the story of the Kingsnorth Six from Greenpeace UK on Vimeo.

Taking a look at the Kingsnorth Six – the activists who took direct action against the Kingsnorth powerstation – Broomfield tells a personal story of the people behind the red boiler suits who scaled the chimney.

With global warming becoming a mainstream concern, Broomfield’s short reflects the current political climate in a personal and anecdotal way. Director of Greenpeace, Jon Sauven, commended the film’s humanist angle, commenting “… we’ve never focused on the human dimension, and that is what Nick has been able so brilliantly to tease out. As campaigners we wouldn’t get emotional, but this film makes you laugh and cry”.

The Kingsnorth case marks a landmark moment in the climate change debate, with all six campaigners being acquitted. Broomfield’s documentary perfectly captures this memorable moment in modern history.
